Overview
Panther is the darling of the SIEM industry, with cutting edge, real time processing of security log events and a UI beloved by analysts the world over. But after raising 140M, there was still a lot of work to do!
The focus was on staying true to the core personas that love and use Panther every day: the security analyst and the security engineer. While CISOs get all the press, analysts use Panther for mission-critical incident response and prevent or intercept cyber attacks each and every day.
Meanwhile, security engineers are those who set up and maintain the complex algorithmic rules that catch nefarious behavior. It's not a job to be taken lightly; while an analyst might miss a single incursion, an incorrectly configured rule can have terrible knock-on effects.
The focus at Panther was to streamline critical workflows so that security teams could set up and maintain the system with ease using detection-as-code, and analysts were able to sift through terabytes of data on the hunt for threats.
